Mellington Hall Holiday Home Park is extremely proud to be sponsoring a ground breaking and significant polar expedition.
Many of our customers will probably know or have seen Lee Edgington (from Newtown) working with Keith Isaac here at Mellington Hall undertaking our ground works. Well, Lee has now trained for the Ice Warrior Project to deliver crucial data to the scientific community in February 2017. Defined as the furthest point from land on the Arctic Ocean and therefore its centre, the Northern Pole of Inaccessibility remains the last and truly significant place yet to be reached by mandkind. It is over 200 miles further than the Geographical North Pole and one of four recognised North Poles.
His task is to travel 200 miles in 20 days, skiing for 10 hours a day whilst dragging his own bodyweight and doing his best to dodge hungry polar bears and an ever-diminishing layer of ice between his skis and the Arctic Ocean…AND complete crucial scientific transect on his travels.
Media Partners include:
The Times Newspaper
ITN< NBC< CNN and C9 etc
Local Broadcasters and newspapers.
We wish Lee all the luck in the world and hope that he makes it back in one piece! If you would like more information or would like to follow Lee’s progress, please visit his Facebook page – Lee’s Arctic World First Expedition.
